50 DM-SSP fail in CM Yogi's reality check, show cause notice issued

On Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath got a reality check of the working style of DM and SSP in the entire state. During this, DM in 36 districts and Superintendent of Police in 14 districts were absent from their chair. According to the instructions of the Chief Minister, he was not resolving the problems of the people by visiting the public in his office. As a result, show cause notices have been issued to all. He is asked why were you missing? The Chief Minister has given instructions that every day for two hours in every situation, listen to the problems of the public by visiting the public in his office. It has been warned that if the mistake is made again, strict action will be taken.

Even before the daily team-9 meeting, the Chief Minister ordered Chief Secretary RK Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary Avnish Kumar Awasthi, DGP Mukul Goyal and ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar to check DM and SSP. Yogi holds Team-9 meeting every morning around 10 am. Even before the meeting started, the phones of the DM and SP of the districts started ringing. District Magistrates were called from the office of Chief Secretary RK Tiwari and Avnish Awasthi, While the police captains were called by ADG law and order and DGP Mukul Goyal. Investigation revealed that a total of 50 DMs and Superintendents of Police were absent from their duties. Its list has been provided to the CM in the meeting itself. Expressing strong displeasure over the attitude of the officers, Yogi directed that show cause notices should be issued against the absent officers and action should be taken if they do not get satisfactory answers.

All these officers were called twice before 9.30 o'clock and after 10 o'clock, despite that they were absent from the office during public darshan. The aim of the Chief Minister was that the way he visits the public early in the morning, similarly strong arrangements should be made in the districts also. A similar exercise was done some time back on the instructions of the CM. Show cause notice was given to the concerned DM. The CM also said that corrupt practices who indulge in illegal activities should have no place in the Uttar Pradesh Police. A list should be prepared by identifying such people. Action will be taken against all as per rules.

In any case, DM-SSP should sit in the office for two hours in the morning.

The Chief Minister has expressed displeasure over the increasing trend of DM and SSP not sitting in his office regularly in the morning. He directed that the District Magistrate and the Police Captain will be present in the offices daily from 10 am to 12 noon. Meet the people and get their grievances resolved. The Chief Minister gave these instructions after getting the complete report from the Chief Secretary and DGP.
