By-elections to four assembly seats in West Bengal are due on October 30. All the parties have geared up for this. Significantly, Nusrat Jahan actively campaigned for the party in the assembly elections held in March-April. Babul Supriyo had joined the party ahead of the recently concluded Bhawanipur by-election. He had requested Mamata Banerjee to "save her from embarrassment". His name is also not in TMC's list.
The list of BJP campaigners includes names of Union Minister Smriti Irani, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, Bihar MP Giriraj Singh as stalwarts from outside the state.
State President Sukanta Majumdar, National Vice President Dilip Ghosh, Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Suvendu Adhikari, Union Minister and North Bengal MP John Barla and Nisith Pramanik, Matua community minister-MP Shantanu Thakur are among others in the list of saffron party. .
The list of BJP campaigners includes celebrity faces and actor-politician Rajya Sabha MP Roopa Ganguly and MP Locket Chatterjee, besides fashion designer and MLA Agnimitra Paul.
