Delhi Air Pollution: Poisonous air can provide relief in two days, AQI of eight areas is above 400 points

The capital Delhi is expected to get some relief from the dreaded pollution. SAFAR estimates that there will be a drop in pollution levels on Sunday and Monday due to the relatively faster wind speed. At present, more than three times the pollution is present in the air of the capital Delhi. On Saturday, the air quality index of eight areas of Delhi remained above the 400 mark, while the average air quality index stood at 374.
The people of Delhi are forced to breathe poisonous air since Diwali. During this period, Delhi's air quality remained in the severe or very poor category for most of the time. But, now there seems to be a possibility of getting relief from this. According to SAFAR, there is a possibility of a slight increase in wind speed between the next two days due to the changes in the weather.

According to IITM, the wind speed in Delhi is likely to be 8 to 12 kmph on Sunday and 8 to 16 kmph on Monday. Due to this, the flow of pollutants in Delhi's air will accelerate and people will get relief from heavy pollution.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi's average air quality index stood at 374 on Saturday, which is kept in the very poor category. But, it is a matter of concern that there were eight areas where the air quality index remained above the 400 mark i.e. in the severe category. According to the Meteorological Department, winds of up to eight kilometers per hour have prevailed during the day. Due to which the flow of pollutants has reduced to some extent. However, more strong winds are needed for the atmosphere to clear completely.
more than three times the pollution

According to CPCB, the amount of pollutant particulate PM 10 in Delhi's air at 4 pm on Saturday was 331 micrograms per cubic meter and the amount of PM 2.5 was 189 micrograms per cubic meter. According to the standards, the amount of PM 10 in the air should be below 100 and the amount of PM 2.5 should be below 60. Only then it is considered good for health. According to this, there is more than three times the pollution present in the air of Delhi.

More than seven hundred incidents of stubble

Now the share of stubble smoke in Delhi's pollution is decreasing. According to SAFAR, 752 incidents of stubble burning have been registered on Saturday. But, now the share of stubble smoke in Delhi's pollution is negligible.
