In Madhya Pradesh's Panna district, a 21-year-old girl has suffered serious eye damage, in fact some people from her village kidnapped her and her brother, thrashed them and then put acid-like chemicals in her eyes.
The woman admitted to Panna district hospital has now been referred to a medical college in Rewa.
The woman, a resident of Barouha village in Panna district, told the media that yesterday some people of the village had kidnapped her and her brother on the suspicion that they had helped a girl from the village escape with a man.
After kidnapping her, the accused allegedly took her to a forest area and assaulted her. They also harassed the woman and when she resisted, rubbed her both eyes with an acid-like chemical.
"They thrashed me and my brother mercilessly. Later one of them attacked me with acid. Later they threw us in the village and fled," the girl told reporters.
