India has taken a tough stand on Britain's new travel rules. Called the new rule discriminatory. India has bluntly said that on the one hand, Britain says to recognize Kovishield and on the other hand the provision of quarantine is being continued. According to government sources, the message has been clearly conveyed to Britain at the top level. If the situation is not clarified from the UK side in the next few days, then India will also be forced to implement the provision of 10-day quarantine and two RTPCR tests for the people of Britain on arrival in India, applying reciprocal rules.
Britain has changed the Corona travel rules from 4 October. Amber and Green List have been abolished. The rules for people coming to Britain from the countries included in the Red List will remain as before. That is, they will have to quarantine for ten days in the hotel at their own expense and have to conduct two tests. Whereas people coming from non-red list countries will not need to undergo a pre-flight RTPCR test if they have been fully vaccinated and the vaccines have been approved by the UK. Nor will there be any quarantine and RTPCR tests will have to be conducted on the second and eighth days. However, repeat tests can be done. Vaccination has been given priority in the new rules.
According to a Union Health Ministry official, after India's protest, on Wednesday, Britain has said that it recognizes Kovishield. But those who go to Britain from some countries including India, irrespective of the vaccine they have vaccinated, will have to undergo home quarantine for 10 days and RTPCR test on the second and eighth day. For which they will also have to pay the fee themselves. According to the official, the Kovid vaccination certificate is not a big issue.
Explain that the 17 more countries whose vaccines have been approved by Britain include Australia, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia etc. but India is not. If India is not included in this list in the next few days, then India is sure to take reciprocal action.
