Apart from the property dispute with Narendra Giri, Anand had to be arrested for molestation in Australia. At the age of fifteen, Anand Giri had left worldly pleasures and adopted the life of ascetics. During this, in the year 2000, Anand Giri met Narendra Giri in Haridwar.
Anand, who studied the Vedas and Sanskrit from Bhilwara in Rajasthan, gradually became close to Mahant Narendra Giri. However, in the year 2020, the differences between the two gurus and disciples came to the fore and a dispute arose between the two over the property dispute. However, the dispute was resolved after Anand Giri publicly apologised.
Mahant Narendra Giri was found hanging in the Baghambri Math of Uttar Pradesh. According to the police, a suicide note was also found from him, in which he had accused Anand Giri as well as two others of blackmailing him.
However, as Narendra Giri's stature grew in the last decade, so did the discussions about Anand Giri's royal hobby. Anand Giri was often seen roaming around in expensive luxurious vehicles. Not only this, the foreign tours of Anand Giri also increased in the last decade. He used to travel by air only in business class.
Anand was even arrested for allegedly molesting a yoga student while on a tour of Australia in 2018. Last year, a picture of Anand Giri went viral on the internet, in which he was seen consuming drugs in the business class of the plane. It is believed that Anand Giri's lifestyle was the root of his feud with Narendra Giri.

The feud between the two escalated when Anand opposed Narendra Giri's decision to sell the Baghmati Math. Things took a turn for the worse when Narendra Giri accused Anand of financial manipulation. After this, Anand was suspended. However, in May this year, the two reconciled.
