JDU national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh has made it clear that the party will contest the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Manipur. In both the states, it will try to tie up with the BJP. If that is not possible, she will contest the election alone. Meanwhile, the party has started consolidating its organization in other states. In this sequence, Khiru Mahto has been appointed as the new state president of Jharkhand.
After becoming the national president of JDU, Lalan Singh has clarified that the party's first attempt will be to go under NDA (National Democratic Alliance) in the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Manipur, but if this does not happen, then it will be including Uttar Pradesh. Will contest elections on its own in all the electoral states. Both the parties have an alliance in Bihar and this government is headed by JD(U) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The BJP has so far not shown interest in an alliance with JD(U) outside Bihar.
Meanwhile, JD(U) will hold a meeting of the party's national executive in Lucknow in November to strengthen its election preparations in Uttar Pradesh and Manipur, followed by a meeting of party office bearers in Imphal. JD(U) will try to achieve the status of a national-level party by fighting strongly in the assembly elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh and Manipur. In the meeting of the party's national council in August last, Nitish Kumar had called upon all the party leaders to take a resolution to make JDU a national party. At present, it is recognized as a state-level party in Bihar and Arunachal Pradesh. If recognized in two other states, it will become a national party. To strengthen the organization in the Northeast, the party has reconstituted the North East Executive Council.
JDU is also eyeing Jharkhand. At one time there used to be seven MLAs of the party and its organization was also strong. After becoming the president, Lalan Singh has started strengthening the organization in Jharkhand as well. In this episode, former MLA Khiru Mahto has been appointed by the party as the President of Jharkhand State. Along with this, Gulab Mahto has been appointed as State Vice President and National General Secretary Praveen Singh as in-charge of Jharkhand.Gulab Mahto has also been entrusted with the responsibility of organizing the displaced people in Jharkhand. To strengthen the organization in the Northeast, the party has reconstituted the North East Executive Council.
Nitish will not go to Devi Lal's birth anniversary program
Meanwhile, Lalan Singh has made it clear that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has received an invitation from INLD leader Om Prakash Chautala to celebrate the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Devi Lal in Jind on September 25. Nitish Kumar will not go there due to preparations for the possible third wave of Corona and due to floods and other problems. On behalf of the party, General Secretary KC Tyagi will participate in it. He said that JD(U) has nothing to do with programs like formation of Third or Second Front in this. It is limited only to the celebration of Devi Lal's birth anniversary.
