Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday asked why some people demand Khalistan when the whole of India belongs to them. The Union Defense Minister made this remark when he was attending the launch of a book titled 'Shining Sikh Youth of India' along with Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. The Defense Minister said, “Indian culture had to face a lot of trouble in the past. If Indian culture persists today it is because of the Sikh community. The Sikh community has a glorious history but the irony is that many of them do not know their history.
The Defense Minister said, 'I would say teach your youth the history of the Sikh community. This country will never forget the contribution of the Sikh community. Some people demand Khalistan. Why do you talk about Khalistan, when the whole of India is yours?' He said, 'This year we are celebrating the 400th birth anniversary (Prakash Parv) of Guru Tegh Bahadur. There is valor, courage in the name of Guru Tegh Bahadur, and both his name and work inspire us. The Sikh community serves langar for all irrespective of their caste, religion. Even Prime Minister Modi appreciates the history and sacrifice of Sikhism.
Kartarpur Sahib would have been in India if we had taken precautions at the time of partition.
Singh said, “The Sikh community has propagated India's message that the whole world is one family and had some precautions been taken at the time of partition, Kartarpur Sahib would not have been in Pakistan, but in India. The Sikh community had a great contribution to the freedom struggle. When we got freedom and faced the tragedy of Partition, Sikhs suffered a lot.
The Sikh community made a big contribution to the Ram Mandir movement.
Rajnath Singh said, “Sikh community also contributed a lot in the Ram temple movement. Nihang Sikhs first agitated for this. During the crisis in Afghanistan, our neighbor is also not deterred from its antics. We all have to be always ready to defend India.
