Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has again created a ruckus by making a controversial statement. Deb said during a conference of Tripura Civil Service officers that the officers should act without fear of contempt of court. TMC has taken a dig at Deb's statement. TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee himself has tweeted and called Deb a shame for the entire country.

Biplab Deb said, 'Contempt of court is said in such a way as if a tiger is sitting. I'm a tiger Power lies with the one who runs the government. This means that all the power is with the people. We are the government of the people, not the government of the courts.

Deb also mentioned how the former chief secretary of the state was relieved of his duties because he feared contempt of court.
