Action will be taken against those who attack Hindus, Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina orders ministers

Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina has ordered the Home Minister on 19 October to initiate immediate action against those who commit violence against Hindus. Hasina has asked people not to trust anything on social media without checking the facts.
Attacks on Hindu temples in Bangladesh have increased due to Durga Puja. A mob in Bangladesh damaged 66 houses and set at least 20 houses on fire after a purportedly blasphemous post appeared on social media during Durga Puja celebrations.

The Dhaka Tribune, quoting the government's cabinet secretary Khandkar Anwarul Islam, said in its report that PM Hasina, during the weekly cabinet meeting on Tuesday, directed Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan to take immediate action against those who used religion to commit violence. It was raging.

Such incidents should not happen in future

Hasina has directed the Home Ministry to be vigilant and take steps to ensure that such incidents do not happen. He has announced to provide all possible help to the families of the victims.

According to local media reports, six people from the Hindu community have been killed in separate attacks but this figure could not be independently confirmed. The Home Minister has said that the Comilla incident is being investigated. We are working to bring the accused to justice.

The ruling Awami League party has been holding cordial rallies and taking out peaceful processions across the country against the recent communal violence. Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Qadir said at a rally here that Hindu brothers and sisters need not fear. Sheikh Hasina and Awami League are with you.
