A contractor was beaten to death in the capital Lucknow on Friday evening. The incident took place over a land dispute in the Gosainganj area. It is being told that the priests of the temple present there had objections regarding the construction work being done on the trust land. After this there was a dispute and the priests together beat the contractor to death. On getting information about the incident, the officials of the police administration reached the spot and started investigation.
The contractor has been identified as Nirmal Agnihotri. It is being told that there was a dispute over the land for a long time and earlier also there was a dispute between the priests and the contractor. This is the third incident of lynching in UP in 24 hours. Earlier on Thursday evening, Manish, an employee in Gorakhpur, and transporter Khempal Saini were beaten to death over roti in Sambhal.
Originally resident of Jai Singh Balaganj in Hardoi lived in Nirmal town with wife Shashi, sons Prashant and Prateek. According to locals, Nirmal was getting the water filled near the temple premises to be removed by the laborers at around 6 pm. Meanwhile, after talking to the priests of the temple, Chandra Pal alias Bablu and his brother Om Prakash alias Sattu, called him inside on the pretext. Nirmal went inside and after some time the sound of fighting was heard there. When people could understand something, then three or four priests and their companions left Nirmal, covered in blood, outside the gate and fled. The laborers and nearby people informed the trust operator Ganesh and took Nirmal to the hospital. There the doctors declared him brought dead.
The contractor was brutally beaten up
According to the police, Nirmal had several injury marks on his head. There were two or three fractures in the leg. There were marks of constriction on the neck. On this basis, it is believed that the attackers brutally beat him with kicks and sticks. He also slit his throat when he raised the noise. In the meantime, after getting the information, the wife and son reached the hospital in a rage. Seeing Nirmal dead, wife Shashi became unconscious. Somehow people took care of him.
The fight was going on for several days
Villagers told that there are two groups of priests inside this temple built in the town. One faction is on the side of the operator while the other faction is angry since the construction of the temple premises. There have been many disputes regarding this construction. According to the director Ganesh, a private bank had approached to open a branch in the premises. After the matter was decided, he started the construction, so that the income of the trust would increase. But, the priests were opposing it. Inspector Gosainganj says that in this the priest Chandra Prakash, his brother Om Prakash, Bhishma alias Pintu, Pappu and their companions Ravindra Kumar, Dharmaraj have been named. All of them are absconding. Three members of his family have been taken into custody.
Third incident in 24 hours
This is the third incident of lynching in UP within the last 24 hours. Earlier, two people were beaten to death in Gorakhpur and Sambhal. On Thursday night, the employee was beaten to death for not giving free liquor. The incident took place in the same Ramgarhtal police station area of Gorakhpur, where the policemen have been accused of beating up property dealer Manish of Kanpur in a hotel. The name of the slain employee is also Manish. Transporter Khempal Saini was lynched in a hotel in Sambhal on Thursday night itself. In the Sadar Kotwali area of Sambhal, the hotel worker thrashed the transporter to death with a wooden stick. The news of the murder of the transporter spread sensation. The entire incident of murder was captured on CCTV.
