Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Varun Gandhi has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, to give relief to the farmers of Uttar Pradesh. In this letter written on Sunday, Varun Gandhi has appealed to the Chief Minister to increase the prices of sugarcane, give bonus on wheat and paddy crops, double the amount received in PM Kisan Yojana and subsidy on diesel. To be given This letter of Varun Gandhi can definitely make the farmers happy, but the difficulties of the Yogi government may increase. It is believed that with the help of this letter of Varun, along with the opposition, farmers' organizations can increase pressure on the Yogi government.


Varun Gandhi, a three-time MP from UP, has also been advocating for talks with farmers. In a two-page letter to Yogi, MP from Pilibhit, Varun has suggested solutions to all the problems of the farmers, mentioning their demands. Varun Gandhi has suggested that the price of sugarcane be raised to Rs 400 per quintal, which is Rs 315 per quintal at present.

Sugarcane is mainly grown in western UP, which is also the center of farmers protesting against the central government's new agricultural laws. Varun Gandhi has said that farmers should get additional bonus on MSP at the rate of Rs 200 per quintal on wheat and paddy. He has also demanded that the amount received under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme should be increased from 6 thousand to 12 thousand rupees. Like the center, the state government should also give 6 thousand rupees annually.

While enumerating the problems of the farmers, Varun Gandhi mentioned the high price of electricity and diesel. He has appealed to the UP CM that farmers should be given a subsidy of Rs 20 per liter on diesel and the price of electricity should be fixed. Varun Gandhi has put these demands in front of Yogi Adityanath at a time when assembly elections are going to be held in UP next year, on September 5, many farmer organizations have organized a mahapanchayat in Muzaffarnagar.
