Notorious criminal challenges SSP to be arrested on social media, police arrested from Nagpur

Police arrested Tanveer Alam, a notorious criminal accused of throwing a bomb at a shop in Sujaganj of Kotwali police station area on January 7, 2017 and challenging Bhagalpur SSP on social media. He is a resident of Asanandpur in the University police station area.

He was absconding after the bombing incident and the police were looking for him. SSP Nitasha Gudiya organized a press conference in her office on Friday and informed about her arrest. SP City Swarna Prabhat was also present on this occasion. Notorious criminal Tanveer Alam, who has been absconding for years, had challenged the Bhagalpur police on social media.


The SSP said that he had posted on social media challenging the arrest of Bhagalpur SSP. Since then the police had become active in search of him. His location came from Nagpur. After this Bhagalpur Police contacted Nagpur Police.

The SSP said that a police team was formed under the leadership of SP City, which included ASP City Shubham Arya, SI Devanand Paswan in Kotwali police station and ASI Amod Kumar of University police station. The same team arrested Tanveer from Nagpur.

There was looting and firing with journalists

Notorious Tanveer Alam has been involved in many criminal incidents. In 2015, he robbed journalists by stopping them. There was also firing on the protest. After that incident, the journalists caught him and handed him over to the police. He has been booked under Arms Act, robbery, extortion and dacoity. The SSP said that a case of robbery is registered against him in Bhagalpur railway station. In that case registered in 2016, he talked about taking that notorious on remand by the Railway Police.
