The strength of the Indian Navy is about to increase. INS Visakhapatnam is going to join the army on 21 November. The Navy will commission the ship in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at a function to be held in Mumbai on Sunday.

Rajnath Singh said, I will be present in Mumbai tomorrow, November 21. Looking forward to participating in the commissioning ceremony of INS Visakhapatnam. The incident marks the first formal induction of four 'Visakhapatnam' class destroyers into the Indian Navy."

According to a statement on Saturday, the commissioning of INS Visakhapatnam will confirm India's presence among an elite group of nations with the capability to design and build advanced warships.

INS Commanding Officer Captain Birender Singh Bains said that after commissioning of the ship, we will continue with some more trials of it. With the induction of ENS Visakhapatnam, India's maritime power will increase significantly. It has been made with 75 percent indigenous equipment under the self-reliant India campaign.

Apart from this, the Indian Navy will also commission the submarine Vela on November 25 and Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh will be the chief guest at the commissioning ceremony. Vela will be the fourth submarine of Project 75.
