Imran government failed to give job, 15 lakh applications for one post of peon in Pakistan

The unemployment rate in Pakistan is at the highest level. It can be estimated from this that 15 lakh people have applied for one post of peon.

Imran Khan government has proved unsuccessful in providing employment to the people. According to data from the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) on Monday, the unemployment rate in Pakistan has reached 16 percent. This is in contrast to the Imran Khan-led Pakistan government's claim of 6.5 per cent.
According to media reports, PIDE has exposed a grim picture of the rising unemployment rate and said that at present, at least 24 percent of the educated people in the country are unemployed. In its briefing to the Senate Standing Committee on Planning and Development, PIDE said that 40 percent of educated women (undergraduates or graduates) across the country were also unemployed.

According to the report, at least 15 lakh people had applied for the post of a peon in the High Court. Officials said MPhil degree holders were also among those who applied for the job.
