Barricades removed from Ghazipur after Tikri, Tikait said - If the roads open, we will also go to Parliament to sell crops

After the Tikri border, now after about 11 months, the Delhi Police has started removing the barricades at the protest site of the farmers on the Ghazipur border on Friday. A police officer said that there is an order from the government, so we are opening the way by removing the barricading. Barricading done by Delhi Police on the lane going from Ghaziabad to Delhi on Ghazipur border is being removed today. There is closed traffic on this lane for 11 months on the expressway.

DCP (East), Delhi, Priyanka Kashyap said that this is Sector-2 and 3. It's NH9, we're opening it. NH 24 will also be opened. He said that this road was closed for a long time due to the ongoing farmers' agitation against the three agricultural laws of the Centre.

During this, Rakesh Tikait, leader of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, who stood on the Ghazipur border, said that the Prime Minister had said that farmers can sell their crops anywhere. If the roads open, we will also go to the Parliament to sell our crops. First our tractors will go to Delhi. We have not blocked the way. Blocking the road is not part of our protest. We will plan ahead and let you know.

This step has been taken a few days after the hearing in the Supreme Court. During the hearing, the farmers' organizations had told the court that they have not blocked any way, barricades have been put up by the police on the borders of Delhi.

Significantly, the Delhi Police started removing barricades on the Tikri border from Thursday night, where farmers are protesting against the three agricultural laws of the Centre. Sources said that in the coming days one of the roads will be opened. An official said that four of the eight level barricades on the Tikri border have been removed. He said that the cement barricades were still there and the road was closed for the movement of passengers.

In a video shared on social media, JCB machines can be seen removing barricades at the Tikri border. Sources in Delhi Police said that this process can be adopted at Singhu and Ghazipur border also in the coming days. Regarding the barricades removed on Thursday night at the Tikri border, a senior police officer said that some level of barriers put up by the police have been removed. He said that this has been done to open the road for traffic soon.
